Bio:
Ray has lived in Newport for over 30 years. Prior to retiring he ran a local charity and was involved with fundraising for Island good causes. His work has been recognised locally and nationally. He was made an Honorary Master of the Open University for his work in assisting those in fuel poverty.
During his working career he has worked for local authorities, including a town council, charities, the NHS and the business sector. Ray is currently a trustee of Community Action, Isle of Wight. During his spare time is volunteer for the St John Ambulance and helps care for his two grandchildren. He is a supporter of the local community larder in Pyle Street.
“I am delighted to be a local councillor. I will be championing open spaces, conservation of wildlife, road safety, heritage and tacking poverty in our town.”
