I was a member of Newport Management Committee for 2 Years and then became a co-opted member for Parkhurst Ward 2007/ 08. In 2009 I was elected for Newport North Ward and I'm the current Chairman. I also serve on the Planning & Licencing Committee,Transport & Tourism. I am on the working parties for the Christmas Fair,Firework event and also on the Allotments Forum.

I chaired Newport Management Committee, the parish council's predecessor, for the two years of its existence - 2006-2008. I was then elected to represent the Pan ward on Newport parish council in May 2008 and was elected by my colleague councillors as the Parish Chair for its first two years. In May 2010. I was re-elected to represent the re-named Newport East ward (Pan & Shide) and served as Vice Chair for one year. In my fourth year on the parish council I now continue to lead on all financial matters. | |
